Boston, MA – Rimon, consistently recognized for its innovation and teamwork throughout its 45 offices in over 13 countries across five continents, is pleased to welcome back accomplished privacy, records and information governance attorney John Isaza, Esq., FAI as a Partner. Mr. Isaza will be primarily working from the Boston and Miami offices of Rimon.

Mr. Isaza returns to Rimon from a sabbatical which he used to launch and later sell an advanced cloud-based software entitled ‘Virgo’, powered by Information Governance Solutions, LLC (IGS).

The cutting-edge Virgo software informs global privacy, records, and information governance, while mapping those requirements to organizational data which is integrated into document management applications such as MS365 and SAP. The largest global companies today subscribe to this software, including NASA, Microsoft, Google, Delta Airlines, Bosch, Visa, and Viacom to name a few. Virgo and IGS were sold to the Boston-based Access Corp. in January of 2020.

Mr. Isaza helped to establish records and information governance as a law practice, dating back to 2001. He has co-authored three books on the subject and remains one of the most sought-after speakers in the field.

“John is a revolutionary leader in privacy with highly recognized skills and a deep breadth of experience and connections across the tech industry,” stated Michael Moradzadeh,  CEO and Founding Partner of Rimon. “We are very pleased to welcome him back to the Rimon fold, both from our Boston Office and in his sharing his terrific expertise with our attorneys around the globe from within the innovative ecosystem which we have pioneered.”

Mr. Isaza is one of the country’s foremost leaders on privacy and legal holds, developing privacy, information governance, and records retention programs for some of the most highly regulated Fortune 100 companies. He collaborates with clients ranging from the Fortune 100 to startups.

Prior to joining Rimon, he served as in-house General Counsel to a publicly traded medical device manufacturer, now owned by Abbott Laboratories.  Mr. Isaza rounds out his past experience with over a decade as a trial lawyer focusing on business, environmental contamination, product liability, and construction defects.  During that time, he served as Arbitrator for the Los Angeles Superior Court.

On joining Rimon, Mr. Isaza stated, “I took a sabbatical for a couple of months after the sale of IGS, during which time I kept trying to figure out my next chapter. After working with a professional coach, we landed back where I started in 2011 – proudly back with Rimon.”

“Rimon Law offers me the flexibility to pursue my outside interests, while at the same time giving me access to top-notch lawyers in the field and across the globe that I can call my partners. I am happy to be welcomed back and look forward to shared accomplishments to come alongside my fellow attorneys and the clients we serve.”

Mr. Isaza graduated from the University of Florida (B.A., Speech and Communication Studies with High Honors) and from Boston College (J.D.)
