California Executive Order: Critical Infrastructure Sectors

On March 19, 2020, California Governor Gavin Newsom issued Executive Order N-33-20 (the “Order”) to mitigate spread of COVID-19. The Governor orders all individuals in the State of California to stay home, except as needed to maintain continuity of operations in 16 “critical infrastructure sectors” identified by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
The following is a list of the 16 “critical infrastructure sectors”:
- Chemical Sector
- Commercial Facilities Sector
- Communications Sector
- Critical Manufacturing Sector
- Dams Sector
- Defense Industrial Base Sector
- Emergency Services Sector
- Energy Sector
- Financial Services Sector
- Food and Agriculture Sector
- Government Facilities Sector
- Healthcare and Public Health Sector
- Information Technology Sector
- Nuclear Reactors, Materials, and Waste Sector
- Transportation Systems Sector
- Water and Wastewater Systems Sector

The Order states that Governor Newsom may designate additional sectors as critical in order to protect the health and well-being of Californians.
