Rimon client Alliance Baseball BBA acquires Baseball America

Rimon Partner Matthew Pace represented Alliance Baseball BBA through its purchase of Baseball America, one of the nation’s oldest leading baseball resources, with coverage of every level of the game, from the major and minor leagues to prospects, drafts, college and high school.

Mr. Pace, who specializes in Sports Law, identified the opportunity to purchase Baseball America to his client Alliance Baseball, an owner of the Omaha Storm Chasers (AAA – Kansas City) and the Richmond Flying Squirrels (AA – San Francisco).  Once Alliance expressed an interest in exploring the acquisition, Mr. Pace introduced Alliance to Rimon client 3 Step Sports, a digital publisher of high school sports information and owner and operator of baseball and other sports camps.  Alliance and 3 Step Sports each invested to form the acquisition group and 3 Step Sports will operate the day-to-day business of Baseball America.  The acquisition group was also advised by leading sports acquisition advisor Inner Circle Sports.
