Washington D.C.— Rimon is proud to welcome Sarah (Xiaohua) Zhao as an International Transactions and Data Privacy Partner in its D.C. office. Ms. Zhao is the firm’s 30th new partner this year.

She joins from Baker Hostetler, where she was a Partner. She previously served as the Managing Partner of the Beijing office of Holland & Knight.

Ms. Zhao has substantial experience in international transactions with an emphasis on technology transactions, data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity from both regulatory and corporate perspectives. She advises major companies on cybersecurity, privacy and data protection legal environments in China and around the world, establishing data protection policies and compliance programs, conducting due diligence on data security for mergers and acquisitions, handling data breaches, and compliance matters.

Mr. Zhao is the 6th new Partner to join the D.C. office in 2020, following Debbie KlisMikhail UsubyanXiaowei YeJason Xu, and Katie Hyman. Rimon’s International Transactions and Dispute Resolution groups have significant experience handling local, national, regional, and international cross-border matters, and have created geographic practice groups to enable integrated teams of Rimon attorneys to respond to client needs on a national or regional basis.

Ms. Zhao earned her J.D. at Valparaiso University, an M.A. in Journalism from Indiana Universityand a B.A. from Beijing Language and Culture University. In addition, she obtained Executive Leadership Education from Harvard University.
