News July 2, 2013

(Palo Alto) July 2, 2013 – Rimon, P.C. welcomes a new trust and estates group, headed by Scott Ross, who has nearly two decades of experience handling highly-complex trust and estates issues, to its Palo Alto office.

The group joins Rimon from Beck Ross Bismonte Finley LLP, where Mr. Ross was a name partner.

Mr. Ross’s group specializes in estate planning for high net worth individuals, including high tech entrepreneurs, executives, owners of closely held businesses, real estate developers and physicians. His group provides clients with a clear perspective on wealth preservation and asset protection. More specifically, Mr. Ross’s group works with clients to prepare customized trust and estate plans involving generation-skipping trusts, charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts, family limited partnerships, family limited liability companies, grantor retained annuity trusts (GRATs), irrevocable insurance trusts, and private family foundations. Additionally, the group has extensive experience in legal issues involving federal estate, gift and generation-skipping taxation.

Mr. Ross is well-known for using a values-based planning approach, working with clients to structure plans that focus on inherited wealth having a positive effect on their heirs, and on leaving a legacy in the broadest sense of the word. Mr. Ross also assists surviving spouses, children, successor trustees, and executors in the administration of trusts and estates following a death. His peers have frequently recognized his accomplishments by selecting him as a Northern California Super Lawyer in Estate Planning and Probate, and a Best Lawyer in America in Tax Law and Trusts and Estates multiple times.

Rimon has been widely recognized as an innovator in the legal field, offering full service teams of highly-experienced attorneys with the ability to quickly shift and adapt to client needs. Rimon’s corporate, litigation, intellectual property, and private client teams work as a close-knit team throughout its 12 offices internationally. The Financial Times recognized Rimon on its list of most innovative law firms and the firm’s managing partners were both named ‘Legal Rebels’ by the American Bar Association Journal.

“We are thrilled to have Scott’s group join our new trust and estates practice. Scott’s expertise in trust and estates planning is unparalleled, as evidenced by his certification as a Specialist in Probate, Estate Planning and Trust Law, California Board of Legal Specialization, a key designation held by fewer than 3% of estate planning attorneys,”said Michael Moradzadeh, CEO of Rimon, P.C. “This expertise allows us to further represent our clients and their employees, who include executives of financial institutions and founders of high-tech companies.”

“As I continue growing my practice, I want to be able to provide a broader range of services to my clients by working with an accomplished group of attorneys with extensive expertise in corporate matters, employment matters and intellectual property matters. I’m very excited to work at Rimon’s Palo Alto office, in the heart of Silicon Valley. I was quite familiar with Rimon’s strong reputation for quality multidisciplinary approaches and innovative collaboration. My group is really looking forward to working with the Rimon team,” said Mr. Ross.

Mr. Ross received his J.D. from Stanford University School of Law and his B.A., Summa Cum Laude, from Wesleyan University. He also has an M.S. in Taxation from Golden Gate University.
