Masayuki Iino is an associate at Rimon, P.C., with a strong technical background and extensive experience in intellectual property law. His areas of expertise span a wide range of technologies, including machine learning, multivariate analysis, artificial intelligence, display technology, video codecs, video cables, network technology, user interfaces, electronic device enclosures, mechanical engineering, circuit board design, embedded and application software, facial recognition, human detection, GPS, wireless and optical technologies, and memory devices.
Masayuki has deep knowledge of prosecution, licensing, and strategic utilization of standard essential patents (SEPs). He has managed SEP portfolios related to major standards, including HDMI, television broadcasting, video codecs (such as HEVC and AV1), and SD memory cards.
Prior to joining Rimon, Masayuki represented numerous global corporations in Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) litigation, including Inter Partes Reviews and Ex Parte Reexaminations. He also served as an in-house Japan Patent Attorney at Panasonic Corporation, where he engaged in SEP portfolio management and broader IP strategy. With over a decade of experience in patent prosecution, litigation, patent transactions, and strategic IP development, Masayuki brings a comprehensive perspective to his clients’ most complex IP challenges.
