About this Event

An intellectual property (IP) protection strategy is critical to the success of blockchain projects. The Open Source and decentralized nature of blockchain implementations does not insulate blockchain innovators from risk of patent assertions.

In the first part of the program, Marc Kaufman will outline the patent landscape related to blockchain technology and describe the Community Patent Protocol, his plan for minimizing patent risk and fostering innovation in blockchain ecosystems.

The second part of the program will be a panel of IP experts discussing how blockchain projects can protect their IP assets, and why they should do so, without interfering on network effects and adoption of their technology.
