Rimon Partner Jill Berliner was quoted in a recent Forbes article discussing why an increasing number of American songwriters are switching to the UK’s PRS to handle their song royalties.
In the article, Jill highlights two reasons for this shift. She explains, “First, for active touring headliners, PRS has created a ‘concierge’ touring arm called the Major Live Concert Service (MLCS), which provides special curated and transparent services and special payments to major artists.”
She also notes the accounting advantage, adding, “PRS’ accounting speed is much faster than BMI or ASCAP.”
