John J. Hanley joins Rimon’s Financial Services team as Partner. His practice will be based out of the firm’s New York office.

Mr. Hanley was previously a shareholder at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney.

Mr. Hanley focuses his practice on first and second lien financings; private placements of debt and equity securities; and the purchase and sale of loans, securities, trade claims and other illiquid assets. His clients include business development companies, specialty lenders, investment banks, hedge funds, actively managed CLOs, special purpose vehicles and other financial institutions.

Mr. Hanley’s pro bono works include working with the Civil Legal Advice and Resource Office to advise low-income New Yorkers on consumer debt issues under the auspices of the New York State Courts Access to Justice Program and Fordham Law School’s Feerick Center for Social Justice.

Mr. Hanley will be joining a veteran Financial Services team of 26 Partners, including Suzanne L’Hernault and Ella Cohen who also joined Rimon’s New York office this year. Rimon’s Financial Services team provides legal services to banks and other financial institutions and represents investment management firms. With Rimon’s decentralized business model, Mr. Hanley can continue building his practice in a manner that best suits each of his clients individually.

Mr. Hanley earned a J.D. from Fordham University where he was named to the Dean’s List, and a  B.A. from City University of New York-John Jay College of Criminal Justice where he was Summa Cum Laude.
