Rimon Law continues growth trajectory with Four New Attorneys joining the firm

Rimon Law is pleased to announce the arrival of attorneys Ricardo Ampudia, Christopher Kelly, Tyler Dolan and Walid Ghedira.

“We are very excited to continue to expand the depth of our litigation, trusts and estates, and international practices, with the recruitment of Ricardo, Christopher, Tyler and Walid,” said Rimon Managing Partner, Juan Zúñiga.  “This group of attorneys are a great fit for our culture.”

Ricardo Ampudia joins the firm from Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP where he was Senior Counsel. Ricardo is a Board-Certified Specialist in international litigation and arbitration. He represents clients in investor-state, commercial and state-state arbitrations, as well as litigation in federal and state courts. Ricardo is currently representing clients in multibillion and multimillion dollar disputes arising out of Europe, Latin America, and the United States in the energy, construction, and mining sectors.

Ricardo’s expertise includes disputes under international contracts and international investment agreements, including free trade agreements, bilateral investment treaties (BITs), and multilateral investment agreements. Ricardo has experience with the world’s major arbitration regimes, including ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC, SCC, DIAC, AAA, ICDR, and LCIA, among others. He has represented investors and foreign governments in international disputes at the facilities of the Permanent Court of Arbitration and International Court of Justice in the Peace Palace in The Hague and the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes in Washington, D.C.

As an ancillary to his disputes practice, he represents clients in international criminal law proceedings and international sanctions compliance. He has handled matters relating to Interpol Red Notice Alerts, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and plea negotiations with the U.S. Department of Justice.

On his move to Rimon, Ricardo said: “My clients need a global law firm that is agile and adaptive. And they need highly experienced attorneys in almost every practice area. Rimon provides all this. I am truly excited to offer such an expansive menu of services to my clients, and to see just how far each of them will go.”

Ricardo is based in Miami, Florida, and licensed in Washington D.C., New York and Florida.

Employment litigator, Christopher Kelly, joins the firm in Princeton, New Jersey with 15 years’ experience in Employment Litigation and Counseling. Chris previously served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey defending state agencies and universities against employment-based claims and now works with private sector clients in many industries, including healthcare, finance, energy and education. Chris has particular expertise in cases involving trade secrets, restrictive covenants, and employee mobility/raiding. He has obtained injunctions barring unlawful competition by employee-salespeople, obtained substantial settlements for theft and use of trade secrets and has successfully defended unfounded claims for breach of non-compete agreements.

Christopher joins Rimon from Cozen O’Connor, where he was Partner. Barred in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and California, Chris handles cases from pleadings through trial and appeals in state and federal courts across the country. He regularly defends employers against wage and hour, discrimination and whistleblower claims, including class and collective actions. Chris zealously advocates for employers throughout the litigation process, including having successfully appealed orders requiring production of confidential information in discovery.

Chris also counsels employers and day-to-day employment and HR matters including leaves of absence, reductions in force, and hiring, firing, and discipline. He conducts due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, and drafts physician and executive compensation agreements.

When asked about moving his practice to Rimon, Chris expressed, “Businesses today are constantly adapting and responding to changing market realities; they aren’t looking for a lawyer or firm that offers one-size-fits-all services. Too often lawyers simply find fault with client proposals and point out flaws; my goal with every client is to find tailor-made solutions to help them get to yes. Rimon, as a forward-thinking and innovative firm, will allow me to provide my clients with the flexibility and adaptiveness they seek and to work with a dynamic and talented group of colleagues who share the same entrepreneurial spirit as their clients.”

Walid Ghedira joins Rimon as an associate in the Paris office.

Walid has prior experience in French, Italian, and Tunisian law firms, advising clients on issues relating to corporate law, international commercial law, contract law, litigation and arbitration. Walid has prior experience in the energy sector, having worked for EDF SA’s International Legal Department on major international projects in Europe, Central Asia, and the Balkan countries.

Walid is fluent in English, French, Italian, Arabic and Spanish.

On joining Rimon, Walid said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Rimon and to be part of such a dynamic and innovative team. Rimon’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of legal practice aligns perfectly with my own passion for creativity and excellence in serving clients. I’m excited to contribute my skills and expertise to furthering Rimon’s mission and delivering exceptional results for our clients.’

Tyler Dolan joins Rimon as an associate in Rimon’s Trust & Estates group in Boston. Tyler focuses his practice on tax planning, multigenerational wealth transfers, business succession planning, estate planning, and estate administration. Tyler was previously a Tax Senior at Deloitte, where he focused on state and local tax matters including return preparation, M&A tax due diligence, real property transfer taxes, and state controversy.

On joining Rimon, Tyler said: “I am very excited to be returning to Rimon after a brief stay in public accounting. Working directly with clients to ensure they can effectively and efficiently plan for the future, whether personal or business, is what I love doing. Rimon provides the perfect blend of expertise, agility, and flexibility to do just that.”

“Rimon saw unprecedented growth in 2023, and we expect that trend to continue in 2024,” said Rimon’s Chief Legal & Growth Officer, T.J. Henry.
