New York Secure Choice Savings Program Final Registration Deadline 

New York enacted a law in 2021 that made participation in the state’s Secure Choice Savings Program mandatory for employers that have at least 10 employees and the program is intended to expand access to retirement savings for employees whose employers do not already sponsor a qualified plan. 

Details on the program were discussed by Rimon back in March 2026.  The deadline for covered employers to register (or certify an exemption) for the program depends on the size of the employer: March 18, 2026, for employers with 30 or more employees; May 15, 2026, for employers with 15 to 29 employees; and July 15, 2026, for employers with 10 to 14 employees.
