Rimon Attorney Mark Lee Quoted in Los Angeles Times on Entertainment Law Trends

Mark S. Lee · April 30, 2026
Mark Lee, partner at Rimon, was recently quoted in a Los Angeles Times article examining the rise of “KPop Demon Hunters”-themed entertainment and the legal implications around intellectual property.
In the article, Lee explains the practical challenges of enforcing copyright at scale:
“To give you an example, I had a client who co-wrote a very famous song. 1.2 million people posted that song on YouTube without authorization. You can send what’s called a DMCA Takedown notice, which is like a cease-and-desist letter to YouTube, but you have to do it 1.2 million times.”
His commentary highlights the difficulty rights holders face in monitoring and enforcing their intellectual property in an era of widespread digital distribution and user-generated content.
