Rimon Special Counsel Eric Cohen will present on PTAB trials and appeals.
This session will provide an overview of recent PTAB case law, as well as what in-house counsel need to know about ex parte appeals to the PTAB, and litigation in a world of social distancing. The moderator is James Smith, Ecolab, Inc. James is the former Chief Judge of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (“PTAB”). Other panelists are Hon. Jacqueline Bonilla, Administrative Patent Judge, PTAB, and Todd Baker of Kirkland & Ellis.

Eric C. Cohen handles disputes involving intellectual property matters in federal trial courts, federal courts of appeal, and the U.S. International Trade Commission. Eric has represented plaintiffs and defendants in patent infringement litigation, trade secret litigation, copyright litigation, and trademark litigation. He has handled contested proceedings in the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, including inter partes review and covered business method review proceedings before the Patent Trial & Appeal Board, as well as ex parte reexaminations, and trademark oppositions.
