New York, NY – Rimon, consistently recognized for its innovation and teamwork throughout its 47 offices across the globe, is pleased to announce that product liability defense litigators Keelin Kavanagh, David Jaroslaw, and Arthur Hoffmann have joined the firm as Partners in the New York office.
The three attorneys were previously Partners at DLA Piper.
Keelin, David, and Arthur, who have worked together for over 20 years, focus on product liability issues within the life sciences and consumer goods industries, and have long represented an international clientele.
“Keelin, David and Arthur have been leaders in product liability defense, handling the most cutting edge matters for the life sciences industry”, said Juan Zuniga, Managing Partner of Rimon. “As life sciences become an increasingly important part of the global economy, growing this practice with top tier attorneys is an important focus for us, as is increasing our footprint in New York. We are very pleased to welcome Keelin, David and Arthur to our team and introduce their clients to the Rimon model of legal practice.”
Keelin Kavanagh, as part of her defense of manufacturers in product liability matters, has significant experience working with scientific, medical, and technology experts on issues of corporate responsibility, regulatory challenges, and litigation both in the US and throughout Europe. She also has a broad-based general corporate litigation practice, including contract disputes, real estate, banking, false advertising, and trade dress infringement. She handles cases before state and federal trial and appellate courts, arbitrators, and mediators, and has advised international clients on the implications of interactions between US and international law. She is a court-appointed arbitrator and mediator. In addition to her American practice, Keelin is a solicitor on the rolls of Ireland, England, and Wales. She graduated from Fordham University School of Law and Fordham University at Rose Hill.
David Jaroslaw provides product liability advice and litigates on behalf of manufacturers in various industries, including the tobacco, vape product, and wellness sectors, in the US, Europe, and Asia. He specializes in the translation of complex scientific, medical, and technological issues into effective advocacy for life science industry clients. He has litigated a broad spectrum of complex civil and criminal matters in both federal and state courts, at the pre-trial, trial, and appellate level. He previously prosecuted matters involving organized crime and international money laundering for the Rackets Bureau of the New York County District Attorney’s Office and for the New York State Organized Crime Task Force (where he was also cross-designated as a Special Assistant US Attorney). David graduated from Columbia Law School and Cornell University.
Arthur Hoffmann has more than two decades of experience working with companies to mitigate product liability risk and defend litigation wherever it arises. His practice is global in scope: in addition to his US practice, he has represented clients’ interests in the United Kingdom, Poland, India, and Spain, among many other countries. As part of his work in representing producers of tobacco, vape, and other “next generation products,” he provides practical advice regarding the rapidly evolving issues in this highly regulated product category. In addition to product liability matters, Arthur has handled a variety of commercial litigation in both federal and New York State trial and appellate courts. He graduated from Boston University School of Law and Stony Brook University.
Keelin, David, and Arthur note that they represent clients in sectors “where there is product liability risk simply by virtue of being in that industry” and that their practice “sits at the intersection of law and science.” As they put it, they are “fluent in the language of science, but can translate that language into plain speech for clients, regulators, and courts.” Keelin, David, and Arthur are looking forward to joining Rimon, a firm that brings an innovative approach to global law practice.
