In this fast-paced presentation, David Fruchtman (chair of State and Local (Subnational) Taxation at Rimon P.C.) analyzes the most important developments in multistate and local tax legislation, case law and administrative pronouncements. Topics covered will be determined based upon current developments. Prior presentations have addressed tax presence, federal legislation, state legislation, click-through nexus, retroactive taxation, whistleblower lawsuits, class action lawsuits, income tax apportionment, corporate income tax refund cases, sales taxes on services, taxation of digital goods, unclaimed property, and the endless battles over online travel companies. Presented three times annually.

Attendees will be informed of significant developments in state and local tax legislation, policy and case law occurring around the country since June 1, 2014. The program is intended for intermediate level audiences, meaning private practice, in-house and government professionals having experience with the different types of state and local taxes, including sales/use taxes and income taxes.  Informational materials will be provided the morning of the program, and no advance preparation is required.

This program is approved by the CA State Bar for 1 hour of CLE credit. NY bar members are also eligible for 1 CLE credit through NY’s Approved Jurisdiction Policy.
