(Palm Beach, FL) November 3, 2013 – Continuing its leading role in representing cutting edge companies, Rimon, P.C. has added noted early-stage Venture Capital partner Mark Mirkin as a partner in its new Palm Beach office.

The Palm Beach location represents Rimon’s 13th office, and the first opened in the southeast.

In bringing aboard Mr. Mirkin, Rimon is adding an attorney who has handled nearly 200 transactions in the last 3 years alone, and has served as the point of connection for many of these start-ups in reaching out to venture capital and angel funds. He focuses his practice on early stage financing transactions, representing entrepreneurs and emerging growth companies in private placements and public offerings of equity, debt and convertible securities, venture capital financings, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. Among the market sectors that he has been particularly active in include biotech, medtech, infotech and cleantech.

In addition to his financing work, Mr. Mirkin has been active in all aspects of the start-up world, advising companies on how to structure and organize, and helping them in basic business planning.

In joining Rimon, Mr. Mirkin is teaming up with a firm that has been widely recognized as an innovator in the legal field, offering full service teams of highly-experienced attorneys with the ability to quickly shift and adapt to client needs. Rimon’s corporate, litigation, intellectual property, and private client teams work as a close-knit team throughout its 13 offices internationally. The Financial Times recognized Rimon on its list of most innovative law firms and the firm’s managing partners were both named ‘Legal Rebels’ by the American Bar Association Journal.

The firm boasts a strong collection of technology transaction, such as Frank Vargas in Palo Alto, Paul Economon in Northern Virginia, Carl Sherer in Tel Aviv, and Sandy Sterret in Washington, DC. The firm has gained wide recognition for handling cutting edge technology work.

Mr. Mirkin joins Rimon from the firm of Hicks, Motto & Ehrlich, where he also worked as a partner.

Prior to moving to Florida, Mr. Mirkin worked in Research Triangle Park in North Carolina, and grew an active tech transfer practice. He has been a leader in helping universities move research out of the lab and into the commercial world. His work includes helping companies navigate the FDA clinical trial process for new drug approval and surmount the regulatory hurdles in medical devices.

“Mark is a great choice to head our expansion into the Southeast. He has been a ‘deal-a-week’ attorney, helping countless early stage start-ups get the financing they need to move on to the next level. He will fit right into our team of attorneys who can know how to help entrepreneurs take flight,” said Michael Moradzadeh, CEO of Rimon, PC.

“I’m happy to be a pioneer in planting the Rimon flag in the Southeast. Rimon has established itself as a cutting edge firm, one that allows me to tap into the expertise of seasoned attorneys who have been at the center of the venture capital and intellectual property worlds. Rimon also has very strong ties to Israel, which has made itself a critical player in venture world,” said Mr. Mirkin.

Mr. Mirkin received his J.D. from Duke Law School and his B.A. from Duke University.
