Rimon Law Welcomes Fund Specialist Andrea Cohen
Ex-Morrison & Foerster Lawyer the Latest to Join Rapidly Growing Firm
San Francisco, CA December 1, 2010--Rimon Law Group continues its dynamic growth trajectory with a new milestone. On the heels of establishing a New York presence with the hiring of ex-Sutherland senior attorney Robin J. Powers, the two-year-old firm that has established a strong practice combining the deep knowledgebase of traditional law firms with the flexibility and efficiencies of cloud-based virtual law firms has added another star to its roster.
Andrea Cohen joins Rimon from Morrison & Foerster LLP. Previously, she has practiced with Cooley, Godward, Kronish LLP and Nixon, Peabody LLC, and has served as counsel for dozens of private equity investment firms, institutional investors and start-up companies. At Rimon, she will continue her significant focus on clean energies and related sustainability technologies, as well as her deep relationships in the venture capital financing landscape with both companies and their investors.
"Andrea is exactly the innovative-minded attorney who thrives at Rimon," said Michael Moradzadeh, co-founder and managing attorney, Rimon Law Group. "She is proactive, self-directed, comfortable with technology and open to the 'best-of-both-worlds' approach of our practice. We are confident that the success of someone like Andrea will serve as a beacon for other attorneys who are eager to do things a different way."
" Rimon has devised a solution that benefits everyone involved," said Andrea Cohen. "Rather than dispensing with the traditional way of doing business, they have incorporated the best aspects of it into a flexible framework that leverages the latest collaboration tools and technology. The result is that attorneys work better and smarter, with a truly 'high touch' client focus."
Ms. Cohen has been a member of San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom’s Clean Tech Advisory Council, director of the BayBio Institute, member of the advisory board of Astia, member of the Northern California Asia Society’s Program Committee. She is active in business and trade groups including the U.S. Department of Commerce’s clean energy efforts and a founding member and co-chair of the Investments sub-committee of the Institutional Investors Committee of the American Bar Association's Business Law Section.
Ms. Cohen received her Baccalaureate degree in Philosophy and Art History from Boston University, her juris doctor from Northeastern University School of Law, and an MBA degree from Northeastern University Graduate School of Business.
