Excellence

Rimon combines the close-knit collaboration and dependable excellence of a boutique firm and the international multidisciplinary depth of a global firm. All our attorneys are highly specialized and work closely together on a regular basis, across our eleven offices.

Before joining us, Rimon's partners must have excelled in careers as partners at global law firms, executives of international corporations, and/or professors at top ranking universities.

Rimon's attorneys work closely together to provide firmwide, multidiciplinary service to their clients. With a constant eye to collaboration, we have at least two firm-wide attorney meetings a month, a thriving internal social network, regional events, and firm-wide retreats. In addition to working together in person, by phone, and through e-mail, Rimon's attorneys also utilize videoconferencing, online document collaboration tools, and instant messaging. The end result is a close community of equals working together to serve our clients globally.

Innovation

Rimon has been recognized globally for its innovation and named a Legal Rebel by the ABA Journal and an innovative law firm by the Financial Times. It is a core belief of the firm that a good lawyer must be innovative, and a strong law firm must constantly improve itself.

Rimon's many innovations include flat management, alternative billing arrangements, flexible work environments, cloud-based collaboration tools, removal of apprenticeships, decentralized organization structure, and a multidisciplinary approach that includes business as well as legal counseling.

Community

Rimon is a nearly paperless law firm, using secure digital file management whenever possible. We strive to minimize our environmental impact through responsible policies and practices. To mitigate the impact we do have, we offset the vast majority of our carbon footprint by purchasing offsets from the non-profit Bonneville Environmental Foundation.

In recognition of our social and environmental achievements, Rimon is a certified B Corporation and one of the first companies in California to become a Benefit Corporation.

As attorneys, we believe our duties extend to providing affordable or free legal services to underserved communities. Our attorneys frequently support the efforts of non-profit organizations and low-income entrepreneurs.

Rimon is proud to donate 10% of its profits to charitable organizations.

Flexibility

Rimon believes freedom and flexibility for our partners leads to more exceptional service for our clients. Our lawyers can work and collaborate from a variety of locations, including our offices, their home, on-site at a client, or anywhere else they choose. In most cases, our partners are free to choose the matters on which they work.

Rimon eschews the hierarchy model, opting instead for equality among our partners. Since our partners join us with distinguished careers, we believe they know best how to serve their clients and how to work together. Our compensation model is free of politics and allows our attorneys to craft billing solutions that best serve their clients' interests.

Partner Compensation

Our efficient model allows us to pay 70% of our revenue to our attorneys, while still providing exceptional value to our clients.

Rimon’s partners are outstanding professionals and are accorded a high degree of freedom and flexibility in operating their practices. Unlike other large corporate law firms, Rimon does not employ a pyramid model with its inherent bureaucracy. Our attorneys are compensated based on clear objective metrics.

Since we believe our lawyers know their clients and market best, every Rimon partner decides his or her own billing rates. Management is available to consult with attorneys about value billing and alternative fee arrangements (areas in which we are industry leaders), but decisions regarding pricing rest with the relationship partner.

Moreover, none of our lawyers are subject to minimum billing requirements. With this flexible approach to billing, attorneys are better able to maximize their revenue from their unique target markets, and fix their own schedules.

Partners at Rimon retain the vast majority of revenues generated by the firm. We employ a straightforward compensation structure which generally results in instantly higher compensation for our partners.

Generally, two simple calculations go into our partners’ compensation:

  1. For matters they originate, our partners generally retain 70% of all fees generated by all lawyers on the matter, less any fees paid to supporting attorneys.
  2. Each partner has an “internal rate” which he or she charges for working matters originated by other attorneys, creating a robust internal cross-marketing program. Attorneys working on their partners’ originated matters retain 100% of this rate.
