Professional Experience

Lara Pearson is the Chair of the Trademark Team at Rimon, P.C., where she also serves as the firm's Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO). Lara's legal practice focuses on trademark and copyright law, including: intellectual property audits; trademark search & clearance; trademark and copyright registration & maintenance; intellectual property transfers; transactional work; and dispute resolution, including litigation when necessary. Lara primarily represents other social enterprises -- those leveraging their businesses and brands as catalysts for positive social and environmental change. Such businesses engage in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) to yield a positive "triple bottom line" of people, planet and profit. As Rimon's CSO, Lara works with others in her law firm to measure and proportionally reduce the firm's carbon emissions and to encourage engagement in social responsibility initiatives. Lara is a member of the Social Venture Network and Rimon is a Certified B Corporation, whose Incline Village branch office is certified under the regional Keep the Sierra Green program. Lara also Chief Pontificator at Brand Geek, a branding law blog.

Lara proudly serves on the Board of Directors of GreenUP! and on the Advisory Boards of Rock the Earth and Sustainable Tahoe. She previously served on the Board of Directors of 1% for the Planet. In recent years, Lara has donated pro bono legal services to 1% for the Planet, Rock the Earth, Green America, Social Enterprise Alliance, the Rocky Mountain Sustainable Living Association, the Tahoe Rim Trail Association, HeadCount, Children’s Cabinet, Sustainable Tahoe, and Envirolution. Lara writes and speaks frequently on trademark law, brand protection, and corporate social responsibility.
